Director of Engineer

As the Director of Engineering, you will be leading a small team of engineers and draftsmen to create, review and oversee the necessary construction documents and processes for our industrial construction projects.  Utilizing our own craftsmen, we are a one-stop shop for our clients: Design & Engineering, Layout, Removal, Fabrication, Civil/Concrete, Construction, Precision Machining, Optical Alignment, we do it all.  You will be overseeing the team as well as being hands on.  Your primary objective is to get accurate work out the door in a timely fashion. We anticipate 30-50% travel for this role.

Your Duties Will Include:

Providing site construction leadership for client's capital projects 

Working with project teams to determine cost-effective construction strategies 

Supporting project development phases with construction scope, cost, schedule, and resourcing input

Lead constructability reviews for projects 

Lead development and coordination of detailed project construction drawings, documents, plans, and schedules

Maintain active oversite of safety, schedule, cost, change management, and quality/precision installation performance

Apply economic thinking to evaluate alternatives, and work with project teams on value improving processes for construction activities

Key Skills:

Possessing strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

Working effectively both independently and in a team environment

Demonstrating effective written and verbal communication skills and obtaining meaningful feedback from customers

Handling multiple tasks simultaneously and organize multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.

Possessing strong computer skills in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Project, including critical path schedule management

 Demonstrating a high level of customer focus and continually seeking innovative ways to improve project execution

Traveling anywhere as business needs require, typically Western US.


You Will Need:

Five (5) or more years of construction management experience in a heavy industrial environment

Experience in reviewing and coordinating 3D design models for construction work

Engineering Degree, or specific qualifying experience

Management of small team

Salary and Benefits:

We anticipate $100-130K, DOE

100% medical for the employee, plans for family

401K with 3% match
